Scientometric monitoring of subjects of scientific and publishing activity of Ukraine on indicators of the SciVerse Scopus database was carried out by the Publishing Service "URAN" by order of "Osvita.ua". On the basis of this, the rating of Ukrainian higher educational institutions is compiled. The School of Medicine as a part of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University entered the rating and took the second place among 136 higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

On April 19, 2017, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with representatives of The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) held the first National meeting on issues of immunization and medical reform «Quality of education on immunization. Medical reform and students". The event was held on the eve of the European Immunization Week. Students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Anastasiia Uzlova, Iryna Redina ta Viktoriia Kucherenko were invited to the meeting. The event was also attended by heads of Student Self-Government and activists from 16 medical higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The moderator of the event is Ekaterina Bulavinova, medical expert of UNICEF in Ukraine.

On April 20, 2017 at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University with the support of the Student Council of the University a solemn celebration of the 212th anniversary of the founding and the 24th anniversary of the revival of the School of Medicine took place. As part of the holiday, the morning cultural and entertainment program was held in the hall of the Northern Building of the University and a concert - in the assembly hall of the Main Building. The basis of the celebration was the theme "Back in the Nineties"

Full professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Doctor of Biology Olena M. Fedota took part and presented a report during the 3rd symposium with international participation "Raising of awareness and education on biosafety and biosecurity in Ukraine" that took place on April 5-7, 2017 in Kiev with the support of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukrainian Biosafety Association, The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ukrainian scientific and technological center. The symposium was held pursuant to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine "On biological security of Ukraine", promulgated by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No 220 dated 06.04.2009.

On April 12, 2017 in Kyiv students of the School of Medicine Olena Delich (3rd course), Othman Abdel Wahhab (5th course), Ilona Hrytsenko (5th course) took a part in the international symposium “Basics of Neurosurgery for Interns and Medical Students», which was held with the participation of full professor, President of Walter Dandy Neurosurgical Society, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery of the University of St. Louis (USA) Salim Abdulrauf.

Recently information about the organization of a surgical school for students on a fee basis at the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was disseminated by third parties to social networks and the Internet, but the administration of the School of Medicine officially declares that the source of this information is neither the administration nor the staff of the School of Medicine. The School of Medicine does not plan, conduct, promote or participate in the organization of events on a fee basis for students of the school and other higher educational institutions.

On March 30-31, 2017 at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the School of Medicine the XIV International Scientific Conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists "Actual Issues of Modern Medicine" was held. The conference was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy and the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology of the School of Medicine with the participation of the Hospital complex "Medipol Mega" (Medipol Mega Üniversite Hastanesi) at the Istanbul University "Medipol" and more than 300 participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Latvia and other countries.

In response to the proposal of the President of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University V. S. Bakirov, students and staff of the School of Medicine carried out the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 31.03.2010 № 777-r and the order of the head of the regional state administration dated 11.03.2016 № 75. They took an active part in the All-Ukrainian Day of Improvement headed by the President of the University V. S. Bakirov, which was held on 08.04.2017.
